PASTOR
- REV. ERIC BAKKEN
Pastor Eric accepted the call to serve as Sr.
Pastor at Evangelical Lutheran in August of 2003. Prior to serving in
Black River Falls, he served as a Mission Developer Pastor at Peace
Lutheran in Eyota, MN (1998-2003). Before that he served a rural
three-point parish north of Cokato, MN (1995-1998). Prior to that, he'd
served as the Lutheran Campus Chaplain at the University of MN-Morris
(1983-1995). He served as the Program Director at Camp of the Cross
Lutheran Bible Camp, Garrison, ND (1980-1982).
Pr. Eric received his
Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary; his Master of Arts degree
in both Pastoral Care and Church History, at Northwestern Theological
Seminary; and his Bachelor's degree in secondary education (History,
Geography, Physical Education, Minority Studies) at the University of
Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
He married Pr. Ramie in
1991. They have four daughters, Jessica, Nisa, Marit, Rikka, and a son
Kjell. In his spare time he enjoys his family, golfing, hunting, riding
his Harley, playing guitar, and the Packers.
PASTOR OF CONGREGATIONAL LIFE - REV.
RAMIE L. BAKKEN
Pastor Ramie has served Evangelical Lutheran Church of Black River Falls
since August, 2003. In addition to Word and Sacrament ministry, Pastor
Ramie partners with the Witness Committee, Parish Education
Committee, Gifts and Memorials Committee and the following ministry teams: Visitation,
Milestone Ministry, Telecare, Nursery, Puppets. Prior to her call here, Pastor Ramie served as an
interim minister at Faith Lutheran in St. Charles, MN. Pastor Ramie
received a Master of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary (St. Paul, MN)
and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Majors in Sociology, Human Services,
Women's Studies) from the University of Minnesota. Pastors' Eric and Ramie
have 5 children (2 are grown), and make their home in Black River Falls.
In her spare time, Pastor Ramie enjoys cycling, hiking, golf, and many
other outdoor activities.
OFFICE
MANAGER - SALLY JACOBSON
Sally provides
receptionist services to visitors or callers, schedules building use and
orders supplies. She is also responsible for maintaining the church
membership files and recording contributions as well as provides
secretarial assistance to the pastors, staff, and various church
organizations. In her off-work hours she enjoys gardening, reading,
classical music, sewing and being with family members.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT/ASSISTANT TREASURER/SUNDAY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT - MARY GERDES
Mary is
responsible for preparing the newsletter, bulletins and inserts for
worship, as well as certificates for various ministries including
baptism and confirmation. She has resumed the Assistant Treasurer
position, in which she prepares payroll, and pays accounts. Also, as
Sunday School Superintendent she coordinates teacher meetings, is
responsible for accurate attendance, and orders any supplies that may be
needed. Mary and her husband, Tom, live in Black River Falls with their
three children, Joelle. Samantha and Alice. When she's not at church,
she also waitresses a few nights a week. She enjoys spending time
with her family, watching their sporting and music events, gardening,
watching movies, and camping.
