What we do and how to get involved

Birth-3 Ministry

Birth to 3 Ministry: A Welcoming Space for Young Children

The Birth to 3 Ministry is a new initiative designed for children aged three and under to engage in. This program takes place once a month during Sunday School in the basement. It serves not only the kids but also the parents.

  • Engaging Bible Stories: We present Bible stories in a fun and interactive manner for the little ones.
  • Playtime for Kids: There is dedicated playtime for children, allowing them to explore and have fun.
  • Conversation for Parents: Adults can enjoy meaningful conversations with one another.

This ministry is a fantastic way to introduce your child to the church environment, making them feel comfortable before they begin Sunday School. It also provides an opportunity for parents to forge connections with other families in the church community.

Sunday School

Sunday school serves children aged 3 through 5th grade and takes place every Sunday morning before the service.

Activities Include:

  • Singing songs
  • Listening to and discussing Bible stories
  • Engaging in activities, crafts, or coloring that complement each lesson

Families participating in Sunday school are occasionally invited to a special family Sunday school day, where they typically engage in a service project or a fun crafting activity. This initiative aims to foster connections among families and support everyone in their child's faith-building journey.

Our goal is to prepare students for confirmation when they reach 6th grade.

Sunday school meets from 8:30 to 9:15 AM on most Sundays during the school year.

Confirmation

Confirmation classes commence when a child enters the 6th grade and continue through the 8th grade, culminating in confirmation for 8th graders in the spring. These classes delve deeper into the foundations of our faith, guiding students to comprehend what it means to be Lutheran.

Our objective during confirmation is to help students discover their calling within the church community, whether it be through various ministries, outreach efforts, or worship participation. Each student selects a “major” to concentrate on, fostering greater involvement in a specific area.

We aspire for confirmation to serve as a launchpad rather than a conclusion. Our goal is for students to feel connected to the congregation and inspired to maintain their engagement as adults.
